Maintaining Student Engagement and Community Building

Maintaining Student Engagement and Community Building

To foster student engagement, I implement constant polling and integrate student-centered activities, such as "Guess Who," which facilitates introductions among classmates.

For the upcoming school year, I will prohibit students from sharing their emails or contact information to minimize out-of-classroom issues. This practice often leads to students messaging each other instead of interacting with me during class. With my enhanced understanding of Engageli, I plan to incorporate more table activities and organize students into groups more effectively.

I am considering a classroom setup where students can only communicate with their tablemates, which will promote a sense of community within those groups. To achieve this, I will design table-building activities and organize preset groups based on participation levels. At the start of the year, I could allow students to choose their seating arrangements and then engage them in "get to know you" activities to break the ice.
